Why Dollar Bureau?

Over the years, I’ve immersed myself deeply into the world of insurance and personal finance. Long before 2019, my conversations with numerous financial advisors and insurance agents, many of whom are my friends, have enriched my understanding of the industry’s intricacies. It’s funny how casual invitations for “lunch” or “dinner” from acquaintances often morphed into sales pitches, further underscoring the pressing need for clarity and transparency.

In every aspect of my life, I’ve always been driven by a passion for research. Whether it’s selecting a new gadget, choosing a travel destination, or diving deep into financial products, I leave no stone unturned. This meticulous and objective approach is what sets me apart. I’ve met countless Singaporeans who, like me, have faced the challenge of navigating the convoluted world of insurance. It’s heartbreaking to realise how many of us are in the dark, unsure if the policies proposed to us truly serve our interests or if there might be better alternatives out there.

In response to this, my dedicated team and I have meticulously reviewed over 200 policies in the past four years, dissecting each one to understand its unique offerings. We’ve pitted policies against each other, tirelessly working to curate the finest insurance options for Singaporeans. These aren’t just arbitrary lists; they’re born from genuine conversations with diverse individuals, understanding their unique needs, and crafting categories that resonate with their real-life situations.

Furthermore, my collaborations with financial advisors across various insurance firms have been nothing short of enlightening. Together, we’ve weighed the pros and cons of different policies, objectively determining the best options available. Our discussions often evolve into broader financial planning strategies, tailored to the myriad personalities and situations commonly found among Singaporeans.

In essence, every piece of opinion, every review, and every post published on DollarBureau.com is a product of countless hours of research, dialogue, and a deep-seated commitment to ensuring that no one else has to experience the disillusionment I once faced. My journey, from a misinformed policyholder to the founder of a platform dedicated to transparency and understanding, reflects my unwavering dedication to serving the best interests of my fellow Singaporeans.

In recognition of my dedication to transparency and empowerment in the personal finance realm, my insights and contributions have been featured on esteemed platforms. I’ve had the honour of being spotlighted on Yahoo Finance, Today Online, Berita Harian, Safra NSMan, Singapore University of Social Sciences, Channel News Asia and GoBankingRates. These features stand as a testament to my commitment and the trust that the industry and readers place in my expertise.
